Images of Greece

Greece lies at the southern end of the eastern European continent, wedged between the Aegean and Ionian Seas. The capital Athens is located at the southern tip of the peninsula.

Greece is surrounded by hundreds of beautiful small islands. The largest is Crete, some of the well known are Corfu, Rhodes, Patmos, Mykonos and Santorini, which many believe to be the Lost Continent of Atlantis. The mountainous interior is covered with Cyprus trees and olive groves. It is the home of Mount Olympus, the highest peak in the Balkans and in Greek mythology was the home of the Gods.

Greece is considered the cradle of Western civilization, and is the birthplace of democracy. They gave us philosophy, the Olympic Games, literature, politics and theatre. Greece has 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, among the most in the world.

Greece is a beautiful country, great weather with an endless coastline. Sit in the shade of a taverna and enjoy an ouzo, soak up the culture or the sun, surrounded at every turn by crystal clear turquoise water.
